VEHAAREV NA
Size Framed: 480 x 480mm
Medium: Pencil and watercolour
In this artwork, the artist refers to the prayer said every morning “VeHaarev Na – Sweeten the words of your Torah in our mouths”. There is an age-old custom to teach and impart to a child the sweetness of Torah by allowing him to lick honey off each letter of the Aleph Beis, thus making the words of Torah sweet in his mouth. The artist has used pencil and watercolours to create a contrast between the black and white imagery and the rich colour of the honey.
