Two of the greatest challenges facing our community are individuals waiting to find their life partner and couples longing to build a family. Ohel Sarala, established in memory of Sarala Ginzburg and brought to South Africa by the Malka Ella Fertility Fund, creates a unique and meaningful connection between these two journeys.

Through the programme, singles and childless couples are discreetly paired. They exchange Hebrew names and commit to davening for one another, while singles are also invited to make a donation of any amount towards the fertility treatment of the couple they are supporting.

Since launching in South Africa in 2019, Ohel Sarala has brought hope and countless answered tefillos. The initiative has celebrated the creation of more than 69 new Jewish homes through marriage and the birth of more than 67 babies to couples who had struggled with infertility, a powerful testament to the strength of tefillah, chesed, and community.
