Linda Fine – Cape Town Marathon 2026

On Sunday 24 May 2026 I will be running the Cape Town Marathon and my first full marathon, and I have decided to dedicate my run in the memory of my late dad – Heimo Gerber – a humble, kind and passionate sports enthusiast and South African champion 400m athlete in 1950. With running strong in the Gerber genes, I’m aptly also running to raise money for The Malka Ella Fertility Fund – a non-profit Jewish organisation – dedicated to supporting Jewish couples who are struggling to build a family.

Did you know that 1 in 6 couples will suffer from fertility challenges, and that the average cost of a fertility treatment is R100 000?
