This collaborative artwork celebrates the power of generosity, creativity and community.

This extraordinary collaborative artwork was created one stroke at a time by visitors, under the skillful guidance of Miriam Begal, to the Malka Ella Art Exhibition (Johannesburg, 16 – 19 August 2026). Each person contributed a single figure to a larger story, creating a powerful depiction of the Jewish people journeying through the parted waters of the Red Sea.

Inspired by the powerful story of the Exodus, the artwork speaks to the power of faith, community and collective action. Faced with what seemed impossible, a people stepped forward together, trusting that a way would open.

Each individual figure represents one person on the journey, reminding us that no one walks alone. Together, their many steps become one extraordinary journey — a journey through miracles.

The original painting sold on auction for over R75 000.
