Lia De Gouveia is a South African artist whose work celebrates the beauty of everyday life through texture, colour, and materiality. Working primarily in oil paint, she transforms familiar foods and domestic objects into richly layered compositions that balance observation with memory and emotion. Her expressive use of thick, sculptural brushwork and vibrant colour invites viewers to see ordinary moments from a fresh perspective. Through her paintings, Lia explores themes of comfort, nostalgia, and connection, celebrating the rituals and experiences that bring people together.
