In this arwork, the artist combines traditional Shabbat candles with abstract imagery. These pieces, inspired by artefacts preserved and displayed in Jewish quarters across Europe, are timeless and important in the continuity of our Jewish heritage. The candlesticks represent the passing down of valued items and traditions in the artist’s own life, from great-grandmother to the artists’ own daughters and future generations to come. The quilling technique and bright colours used create a vibrant image of Jewish tradition from generation to generation.
