In The Heroes of Our Story (Boy), the artist reframes the traditional idea of a superhero. For many Jewish children, heroes are not fictional characters but the soldiers of Israel, whose courage and commitment inspire those around them. Wearing oversized army boots, the children symbolically follow in the footsteps of parents, siblings, and loved ones who have dedicated themselves to protecting the Jewish people. The works honour the values of courage, sacrifice, and continuity, celebrating the individuals who shape their families’ stories and inspire future generations.
