In this artwork, the artist embraces colours typically avoided to memorialise cherished candlesticks passed down through generations. These ancestral artifacts, carried from Russia in times of persecution, inspire the artist in her mission to illuminate the world. Despite the muddled palette, the artist portrays the intrinsic light and honours her heritage by adorning the work with gold. As the artist lights candles every Shabbos, she feels a continuous heritage of light streaming back through the of the women who came before her.
