In Portrait of Edith Eger I & II (2024), created at Edith Eger’s home in San Diego, the artist honours the extraordinary life of the Holocaust survivor, therapist, author, and speaker. Created alongside Still Life with Essential Objects | Edith Eger, the work reflects Eger’s journey from Auschwitz and her connection with Viktor Frankl to her lifelong commitment to healing. The companion still life includes her book The Choice, and family photographs. Both portraits created on the same, show Eger seated in her butterfly chair holding the artist’s handmade lace, symbolising the invisible threads connecting people. Donated to the Malka Ella Fertility Fund, the portraits honour Eger’s legacy by helping bring a Jewish child into the world in her name. Edith Eger passed away on 27 April 2026.
