In this artwork, the artist reflects on the literal and figurative power of the ocean in Jewish history. The story of the splitting of the Red Sea as the Jews escaped slavery and moved towards freedom has been selected to depict how the Jewish people have overcome adversity. The artist used gold acrylic paint to symbolize the glittering promise of the future of the Jewish nation, staytex to build the waves, and a mesh polypropylene, orange bag to add texture to the piece.
