About this piece

In City of David (עיר דוד), the artist draws inspiration from a deep personal connection to Jerusalem and the words of Tehillim 122, describing Jerusalem as a city “joined together as one.” Created using tetrapak printmaking, the visible folds, creases, and worn textures mirror Jerusalem’s layered history, architecture, cultures, and people. The surface evokes the feeling of a treasured photograph, unfolded and revisited over time. Repetitive mark-making, etched into the foil, echoes the meditative rhythm of daily Tehillim, allowing the City of David to emerge not as single, fixed view, but a layered place of memory, faith, continuity, and enduring connection.
