About this piece

In Held in Tension, the artist begins with a grid intended to represent order and stability. Through layering, obscuring, and reworking, that structure gradually shifts as lines blur, colours merge, and the forms moves beyond rigid control. What emerges is a surface held in tension between structure and instability, where disruption becomes central rather than something to correct. The artwork reflects the fragility and uncertainty shaping contemporary life, with instability not only as a sign of breakdown, but also as a generative force capable of producing change and renewal.
