About this piece

In Bayit Sheli, the artist draws inspiration from the Beit HaMikdash and the Jewish people’s enduring longing for its rebuilding. Influenced by the sacrifice of Israel’s soldiers, particularly Daniel Peretz A”H, the work seeks to bring a symbolic representation of Hashem’s home into contemporary Jewish homes. Created using clay, chalk paint, textured brickwork, and gold foil, the artwork evokes the architecture of the Temple while expressing themes of faith, remembrance, hope, and redemption. Inspired by accounts of soldiers encountering images of the Temple in homes, it serves as a powerful reminder of the aspiration for the Third Beit HaMikdash.
