In Beneath Calm Waters, the artist reflects on the quiet contradiction of Jewish motherhood: the need to appear steady, nurturing and composed while carrying unseen fear, prayer and emotional storm beneath the surface. Layers of deep blue suggest calm water, while flashes of yellow and turquoise break through like anxiety, hope and faith fighting to be seen. Through abstract texture and movement, the painting reframes strength not as silence, but as the courage to hold chaos beneath love and still create light.
