Terry Ann Kalinko
Ha’olam Ha Ba

Winning Bid: R 30,500.00

Size Framed: 670 x 490mm
Medium: Oil paint on canvas

In the painting, “Ha’olam ha ba”, Terry Ann captures the beauty of an avenue of jacarandas in shape, colour, light, and shade. A symphony of effervescent delicate watercolour washes and intrepid oil paint on canvas. A blessing of praise and gratitude, “Blessed are you H Shem, our Gd , King of the universe, Who has such in His universe”. The trunk and branches are drawn with copic liners and gold paint. On a deeper level of interpretation the artist places a tiny figure at the end of the road, symbolic of a person who has completed his or her life’s journey crossing over into the next world – Ha’olam ha ba.
