Yakira Gischen, was born in Johannesburg in 1999, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts in 2021. Yakira, who now teaches art classes from her home studio and practices as a mural artist, having painted works at Yeshiva College, King David Linksfield and Tara Hospital, has been recognised for her creative talent – winning the Wits Young Artist Award. Yakira is an avid painter, using acrylics and watercolours to portray the themes of femininity and spirituality within Judaism in her works.
