Bevlee, who grew up in a small country town in Mpumalanga, has been drawing and painting her entire life. Bevlee graduated with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and an Honours in Painting. For more than 30 years, Bevlee ran her own art school, teaching both adults and children and has exhibited widely in many group and solo exhibitions. In 2019, Bevlee closed her art school to devote herself full-time to drawing and painting. Bevlee is inspired by the concept of palimpsest in which something that has been reworked continues to bear the visible traces of its earlier form, allowing work to manifest in varied and unpredictable forms.
